Resolved Question: Is it costly & difficult to create a business website.?
I would like to have a website with different pages. One introducing our business with a location to our place, 3-4 different pages devoted to colorful pictures of our services/projects completed. The last page with coupon or discount information. How much does a 5-6 page website cost and do I have to hire someone to host it and do every the key words so people who google for such service will be able to find my site? What sort of things are needed to have a website? I know who I can register my domain name with, but other than that??? I am not very knowledgeable about this sort of thing. Hey, I'm signing up with dreamhost, an awesome site that'll give me 500 GB storage with 5 TB bandwidth for $6/month, as well as a free domain name. But they also have coupon codes, I'm not sure which one I want to do. Should I go with: (1) 100 additional GB storage (600 GB total) One additional free domain registration (2 total) (2) Three additional domains (4 total) (3) One additional free domain (1 total) One additional unique IP (1 total) The totals is what I receive with the hosting plan + the coupon. I'm thinking #3 doesn't make sense because then I'll have 2 sites but only 1 IP. #2 looks better than #1 because I doubt I'll need 600 GB of space, especially because my space alotment increases by 2 GB each week. And 4 domains would be really sweet. Still, I'd adore second opinions.

I want to make a website for fun. I already registered the domain name and want to play around a little bit. I'd like to make a website regarding restaurants in my area of the state, maybe 5 or 6 towns that border each other. What I'd like to do is review each restaurant in detail (describing host, atmosphere, service food portions etc.). a whole review of our entire dining experience there. On each restaurants page, I'd like to include a link to the restaurants website, menu, comment on portion size, put info about coupons (whether they are on the website, receive emailed to you if you sign up, receive them in the sunday paper etc..,), where or not you receive a free preappetizer like bread etc etc... . Also maybe add links to other review sites (yelp, zagats). On each page, I can have people comment on the restaurants if they've been there, maybe have visitors submit whole reviews and we can feature them as guest reviewers.. just a fun local site. These aren't tiny towns, but they aren't big towns either, maybe 30-50 restaurants per town? While it would be for fun, if it got enough traffic maybe i would add sponsor ads and look if i can make enough to cover part of the hosting price. Basically it would be a local site that, in my opinion, would be a little more personalized than yelp, we8there etc... What do you think? Any ideas?

now i have a domain and registered it brand new using a godaddy's 1 year free domain name coupon!! for the information that I inputed I made every the stuff up and sometimes would just enter random stuff....the only thing i did not bs was my email and the coupon (of course).... my question is if i really liked the domain can i switch the domain registered to another account??? like i would like to be able to register my real information even with my real payment method which is using paypal. is this possible?? or do i have to wait until it expires to register it for another account? and also what are the consequences..like will those advertising companies receive my domain somehow if it expiress??
